Why Doesn't PVA Creator Get an Outlook Token Automatically Anymore?
If you have used PVA Creator to create Outlook accounts, you may have noticed that newly created accounts no longer come with an Outlook token.
Why has this changed? And what should you do if you need Outlook accounts with tokens?
Let's explain it step by step.
1. Why Don't Newly Created Outlook Accounts Come with Tokens?
Previously, Microsoft allowed Outlook accounts to obtain tokens through a simpler process. PVA Creator could follow the supported process to create Outlook accounts and obtain tokens.
However, Microsoft has changed its requirements.
Creating an Outlook account and obtaining an Outlook token are now two different steps.
PVA Creator can still create Outlook accounts, but newly created accounts do not automatically come with tokens.
This is not simply a software error. The token acquisition process now requires additional steps, including verifying a recovery email address.
2. Can PVA Creator Create Outlook Accounts with Tokens?
Yes, this may be possible, but it requires additional development.
Currently, PVA Creator does not support the complete process of adding and verifying a recovery email and then obtaining an Outlook token.
If you need this functionality, we can discuss custom development for your specific requirements.
Before development, there is one important thing you need to understand: the recovery email must be accessible to the software, not just a valid email address.
3. What Is a Verifiable Recovery Email?
A recovery email is an email address that Microsoft asks you to use to verify or recover your Outlook account.
When Microsoft requires verification, it sends a verification code to that email address.
To automate this process, PVA Creator needs to do the following:
Access the recovery email account.
Find the verification email sent by Microsoft.
Read the verification code.
Enter the code into the appropriate verification page.
Continue the supported process for obtaining the Outlook token.
This is what we mean by a verifiable recovery email in the context of automation.
Simply providing an email address is not enough.
For example, if you provide [email protected] but the software cannot log in to that mailbox or retrieve its emails, the software cannot read the verification code automatically.
As a result, the automated verification process cannot continue.
The recovery email must be accessible through a supported method that allows the software to retrieve incoming messages.
4. Can We Use Another Outlook Account as the Recovery Email?
Yes, but there is an important condition.
The Outlook account used as the recovery email must be accessible to the software, and the software must be able to retrieve its emails.
For example, consider these two situations.
Situation A: The recovery Outlook account supports OAuth2 email access
If the recovery Outlook account can be accessed through OAuth2, the software may be able to retrieve Microsoft's verification email and read the verification code automatically.
This makes the account a suitable candidate for use as a recovery email, subject to the account's permissions and Microsoft's verification requirements.
Situation B: The recovery Outlook account cannot be accessed through OAuth2
If the software cannot retrieve emails from the recovery Outlook account through OAuth2, it cannot automatically read the verification code using that method.
Even if the recovery email address itself is valid and receives Microsoft's message, the automated process cannot continue without a supported way to retrieve that message.
Therefore, we do not recommend using an Outlook account as the recovery email unless its email access method has been confirmed to work.
5. What Should You Prepare Before Requesting Custom Development?
If you need PVA Creator to create Outlook accounts with tokens, please consider the following requirements:
A recovery email account: You need to provide an email account that can receive Microsoft's verification messages.
Email access: The software must be able to access that mailbox and retrieve incoming messages through a supported method.
Verification: The software must be able to obtain the verification code and submit it when Microsoft requests it.
Token acquisition: After the required verification steps are completed, the process can continue to token acquisition, subject to Microsoft's requirements and account eligibility.
We need to evaluate your recovery email setup before confirming the development solution and cost.
6. Summary
The key point is simple:
Creating an Outlook account does not automatically mean that the account has an Outlook token.
Microsoft has changed its requirements, and obtaining a token may now require recovery email verification.
To automate this process, the software needs to access the recovery email, retrieve Microsoft's verification code, and complete the required verification steps.
An Outlook account can be used as the recovery email if it supports a working email retrieval method, such as OAuth2. If the software cannot retrieve emails from that account, it cannot automatically obtain the verification code.
PVA Creator currently requires custom development to support this complete workflow. If you need Outlook accounts with tokens, please contact us with details about your recovery email setup so we can evaluate your requirements.
